Welcome to Compass Points!
The second annual Compass Points Symposium for theatre students and emerging-artists is coming in June 2009 to Ottawa, Ontario, hosted generously by the Magnetic North Theatre Festival.
BE PART OF THE LARGEST GATHERING OF
THEATRE STUDENTS IN CANADA!
After an amazingly successful and inspirational first year, the Compass Points Symposium for theatre students and emerging artists from all across Canada is back for its sophomore year. The second annual Compass Points Student and Emerging Artist Symposium will take place in Ottawa, June 2009 (June 8-12). Come and be inspired by performances from across the country, engage in workshops and discussions, and meet future colleagues and co-conspirators.
Held during the Magnetic North Theatre Festival, Compass Points is a gathering of students and emerging artists from across the country, helps navigate the Festival and offers a first hand introduction to the professional theatre industry. Organized and hosted entirely by students from across the nation, Compass Points is a week-long event consisting of workshops, panel discussions, and social events all the while inspiring participants to chart their own course in Canadian Theatre.

2008 Compass Points Participant
Liz and Josh along with some of the newly arrived Compass Points participants were at the MNTF opening night celebration last night! After we ventured into the NAC Studio Theatre to see the opening night performance of NEVERMORE. An amazing show! We encourage everyone to go and check it out along with the entire MNTF lineup.
The festival bar is now open and in full swing at CLUB SAW where you can access free wireless and hang out during the day and enjoy drinks and the company of your fellow participants, artists and all of the organizers at night after the shows!
For all of you that are just arriving in Ottawa (again!) everything you need for the symposium can be picked up near the information booth at the NAC. Can’t wait to see you all here and begin this amazing symposium!
All the best and safe travels!
